Introduction ====================== This manual is targeting towards the administrator of SeedDMS, though some parts also cover the usage from a regular user's point of view. SeedDMS does not have a seperation into a frontend and backend view like many content management systems have. There is just one web based user interface which slightly changes depending on your access rights. All screen shots for this manual were taken with an adminstrator logged in. Hence, if you are logged in as a regular user, some of the functions may not be visisble. Once you have installed SeedDMS you will see a login page in your browser. .. figure:: images/login.png :alt: Login page :scale: 50% Login page Besides the login name and your password, you can also set the language which will be saved and remembered when you login the next time. At the time of writing SeedDMS supports more than 20 languages. A successful login takes you right to the page showing the root folder of the dms. .. figure:: images/viewfolder.png :alt: View Folder :scale: 50% View Folder page This page looks like a regular file system manager and actually SeedDMS works like one in many aspects, which makes it quite familar to use. The dark navigation bar on the very top of the pages remain there on every page, though it may have different entries depending on various settings and whether you are logged in as an admin or a regular user. The lighter navigation bar right under the main navigation changes depending of the context and the available operations. There are four different contexts: * folder view * document view * admin view * my documents view Below the context navigation is another line showing the current path within the folder tree (the breadcrumb navigation). The rest of the page is divided into more sections which are mostly self explanatory. The section titled 'Fast upload' will only appear if it is turned on in the settings. It is for uploading files by dragging them onto the yellow area. The tree on the left only shows the folders and its hierachical order. The list on the rigth contains both, the subfolders and the documents of the currently selected folder.
