document

A container for an arbitrary number of document versions

version

A single version of a document actually containing the file which was uploaded by a user.

folder

A container for documents and folders

home folder

A folder which is assigned to a user. The only purpose of a home folder is to redirect the browser to this folder after login

role

A type of user associated with access rights. Till SeedDMS 5.1.x a role was one of ‘guest’, ‘user’, or ‘admin’. Since SeedDMS 6.0.x the number of roles is unlimited but each role has a type which is again ‘guest’, ‘user’, or ‘admin’

task

A certain operation which is executed frequently by the task scheduler.

notification

A message being send to users when certain operations are executed. Notification are usually send by mail but other transport mechanisms can be added.
